VP Technical Development

Primary objectives & goals

The VP Technical Development (TD) is leading the TD team and manages the technical development operations and strategy of Valerius setting the priorities so that they match with the overall mission and goals as defined by the company.

    Scope & Responsibility

    • Responsible for the technical development functions of Valerius, including

     - Cell Line Development,

     - Up- and Downstream Process Development,

     - Bioanalytics,

     - and Quality Control.

    • Represent TD for the assigned portfolio at management and external stakeholder levels.
    • Establish an overview and maintain Valerius’ Intellectual Property.
    • Evaluate and recommend on future projects, such as new development opportunities or technological ventures.
    • Oversees all TD programs and projects, guides teams to ensure cross-functional integration, coordination and alignment.
    • Ensures TD teams are actively and appropriately aligning with other teams to ensure timely and on-target results.
    • Provides leadership guidance and direction in ongoing enhancements/development of core and sub-team processes, structures, systems, tools and other resources.
    • Coordinate development activities by recruiting qualified development personnel and evaluating their performance.
    • The VP Technical Development is an ad hoc member of the Valerius Management Board.

    Desired Professional and Technical Requirements

    Education/Qualifications

    • Completed studies, preferably MSc, PhD or MD, in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Medicine, or a comparable degree with corresponding professional experience.

    Experience, Skills, Knowledge

    • Multiple year experiences of biopharmaceutical active substance production and technical development, ideally antibody and biosimilar development.
    • Leadership/management experiences.
    • Very good knowledge of English written and oral.
